Let’s start with the places to visit in Bali.
This beach is also known as sunset beach. It is one of the best known tourist place in Bali. This place is filled with a healthy number of night clubs within walking distance.
So, next time you go to Bali grab your bestie and happy club hopping!!
It is probably the second most popular beach after Kuta attracting a lot of tourists and well known for parties. It’s less chaotic than Kuta, so if you want an escape from the crowd this is a good option.
It is a region in Southern Bali that is known for it’s sandy beaches like Geger Beach. Other places to visit in Nusa Dua are Water Blow, Pasifika Museum, Serangan Island, Pandawa Beach, Blue Point Beach and Serangan Island.
It’s a town in the uplands of Bali which is known as the cultural center of the island. It is comprised of fourteen villages. In the recent years Ubud has highly developed due to the increasing number of tourists and commercialization.
Uluwatu and Bukit
The best attraction of these places is Bali’s one of the most iconic temples along with the coastlines . Uluwatu is one of the cultural hubs in Bali and you should definitely visit the amphitheatre next to Uluwatu temple to watch kecak dance.
It is a seaside town in eastern Bali. Few places to visit in Candidasa are Goa Lawah Temple, Lempuyang Temple, Amed Beach, Jemeluk Viewpoint, Tirta Gangga Water Gardens and many more…
It’s located on the eastern side of the island and is the earliest beach resort. It is the former fishing village where the colorful fishing boats rest on the sand and thus very beautiful to look at. There is also many historic temples to visit during the day time and a huge number of galleries and restaurants to attract tourists mainly from Europe.
Well I guess food is one of the most important factor that tells us about the culture,climate and history of a particular place.
Best Balinese Food
So, let’s discuss about the Best Balinese Food that you must try in Bali.
Sate or Satay is a meat dish which majorly uses chicken, goat, mutton, beaf or pork. The meat is mixed with a lot of vegetables and rich spices.
In case of sate lilit(exclusively found in Bali) the marinated meat is the then wrapped bamboo, sugarcane or lemongrass sticks and then grilled.
Nasi Ayam and Nasi Campur
It’s basically chicken rice that is served with many Balinese delights.
Bebek and Ayam Betutu
Betutu is an iconic Balinese dish that is slow cooked in a coal fire. This mainly consists of a whole chicken or duck stuffed with traditional spices and wrapped in banana leaves. It’s very rich and juicy with a robust taste.
Bali’s classic pork dish which invloves barbecuing of a whole pig.
The fresh grilled shrimps, crabs, lobsters and a wide varieties of fish will make you instantly fall in love with seafood. The best place to try them is in the beachside cafes in Jimbaran Bay.
Pepes and Tum
Pepes is an Indonesian cooking method where banana leaf is used as food wrappings. They are either steam cooked, boiled or grilled. They are used to prepare fish, chicken, tofu or vegetables.
Tum can be differentiated from pepes on the way they are folded and stitched and one end and then steam cooked.
It is known as Indonesia’s fried rice and is one of the famous dishes in the island. The ingredients are almost same but differs greatly in presentation and garnishing.
Cakes and Desserts
Jajanan pasar(traditional cakes), Wajik, pancong, pisang rai, kelepon, godoh are some of the typical varieties of the island’s desserts. The main ingredients include rice flour, glutinous rice, sugar, tropical fruits and coconut.
Shopping is compulsory, isn’t it??
So, here’s a list of few best places for shopping in Bali.
Here you can find a huge range of unique and beautiful artworks by the local craftsmen. Two of the most famous art markets in Bali are the Kumbasari Art market in Denpasar and Ubud art market.
Walk down the streets and discover the shopping hotspots of the island. This will be an unique experience where you can witness the fashion botiques, modern malls and art markets all at the same time. So, best places to pick are Jalan Raya Ubud, Poppies Lane(Legian), Garlic Lane(Legian), Jalan Raya Seminyak and Jalan Raya Kerobokan(Kerobokan).
After sunset, the night markets of Bali provides you with delicious local snacks along with memorable shopping experiences.
The famous night markets are Sanur Night Market, Gianyar Night Market, Kuta Art Market, Taman Sari Market and Kereneng Night Market.
Apart from these shopping malls and fashion botiques are always an option for you but for gathering experiences and connecting with the local people of the island it’s best to visit the local street markets.
Apart from shopping, eating and sight seeing the adventurous activities that you can do in Bali are Surfing(southern coast and Bukit Peninsula), Day Cruises, Kite Surfing, White Water Rafting(Ayung river and Telaga Waja), Waterbom Bali, Sea Walks, Cycling and Canyon Tubing(North Ubud).
With the amazing beaches, a wonderful night life, an active water sports zone, rich cultural and traditional heritage, unique cuisine and warm hospitality Bali has a lot to give to a true traveler which is entirely exceptional thrilling. From young travelers to rich couples, Bali attracts everyone for its multi dimensional beauty.
