Chandratal Lake is 14100 ft above from the sea level and is one of the most beautiful lakes in Himachal Pradesh. This lake is in Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The lake derives its name due to its crescent shape. This lake is the least explored lake of Himachal Pradesh. The lake is flanked by gigantic mountains which turn into a bed of wildflowers during winters.  The sad thing is that this lake is accessible only during the summer months. The lake and the trek around remain closed during winter as the lake is frozen. This lake is famous for camping and later to visit the Kunzum Pass.

The lake is created by the streams of the Bhaga river based on which this entire valley is known by the name Bhaga Valley today.
